We thank God for all the food placed before us for which no living creature has been sacrificed, and may there be peace on earth. Amen.

  • These might look like pancakes, but they're not. Trust me, once you try them, your life will never be the same. So simple to make, have them with sweet jams or caramel or chocolate sauces, or as a side to a savoury dish or simply with chutney and a salad, the choices are endless..

    Ingredients:
2/3 cup of Polenta or cornmeal
    1/3 cup of self-rising flour
    1/3 cup of milk
    3 tbsp melted butter
    1 large egg
    Oil for frying

    Instructions:
    1. In a bowl, combine the polenta, self-rising flour, butter & milk, and large egg. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well blended. The mixture should have a moist consistency, but not be too runny.
    2. Heat a skillet with oil. (You can use ~3 tablespoons of coconut oil, or use your preferred oil.)
    3. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the skillet. (The cooking technique used is similar to traditional pancakes.)
    4. Cook the fritters until they turn brown on one side, then flip them over to brown the other side.
    5. Once the fritters are cooked, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels. Blot any excess oil by gently pressing the fritters with the paper towels.

  • As for the comment on cloned meat...oooh yuck sounds sickening, though technically no animals would be harmed to produce it probably. The cloned animal would be harmed by eating it... “Cloning” refers to the duplication of a fertilized ovum...so its still termed as a synthetic animal product.... I personally wouldnt even endeavor to contemplate to consume something grown in a laboratory anyway either,as it just sounds so yucky to think of. I'll just stick to my veges far more appetizing..

  • Hi! I joined this group in hopes of expressing a alternative to killing animals for their meat but rather taking a meat cell sample and clone it in a lab for us to enjoy eating. This way the animal doesn't suffer or die in the process and if this could be accomplished than I will  continue to eat meat rather than become a full blown vegetarian.

    • I'm a vegan, but this might interest you 😏

A vegan diet excludes all meat and animal products (meat, poultry, fish, seafood, dairy and eggs), whereas a vegetarian diet excludes meat, poultry, fish and seafood.
