Quietude is a state of calmness, a place of stillness, in which the seeds of love, joy and peace may quietly grow, flourish and blossom.
~ Mary Anne Byrne ~
Every morning was a cheerful invitation to make my life of equal simplicity, and I may say innocence, with Nature herself.

The Changing Seasons Within
As the seasons change around us,
we change also.
The world shifts in quiet increments,
light tilting, air cooling,
leaves loosening their grip,
and something in us answers.
We shed what has grown too heavy
and reach for what continues to nurture our growth and well-being.
Each season asks something different of us,
and each time we respond
with a different version of ourselves.
~ 'The Changing Seasons Within' by The Garden Of Pensiveness
It is in the quiet times that we build our strengths and know we have something to rely on. Solitude is not withdrawal into a place where no one and no sound can penetrate. It is a sweet moment of peace with or without other people that lets us re-center and reset the rhythm of the mind, body and spirit. It is wisdom to stay close to the solitude of nature to keep us young and pliable.

Radiant Joy of Autumn
Radiant joy is everywhere,
it glows in the crisp air,
in sunlight spilling through amber leaves,
in the quiet hush that settles over the earth.
Even the smallest moments,
a leaf twirling to the ground,
paths adorned with gold and amber,
seem touched by gentle celebration,
as if the season whispers
that every fleeting moment
is a gift to be cherished.

"The leaves are falling, but you look up to your DREAMS...
IT'S AUTUMN, you are free to be reborn!"
Autumn...the year's last, loveliest smile.
~ William Cullen Bryant
Flowing Freely With Life
May each morning
awaken in us
the quiet possibilities
that lie ahead,
may they be,
gentle,
unassuming,
and full of promise.
As the river
moves forward,
carrying water,
carrying light,
carrying life,
may we move forward
with gratitude
for what is given,
and may we
acknowledge
the blessings
waiting along the way.
May we welcome the day
as the river
welcomes the sun,
without hesitation,
without regret,
flowing, flowing, flowing
with awareness,
with openness.
May we drink deeply
of the currents,
the calm,
the force,
the lessons
in each bend,
the reflection
in every ripple,
the peace
in stretches of still water.
May our hearts remain open,
our minds awaken,
our souls be nourished
by the endless possibilities
that each morning reveals.
And may we move forward effortlessly,
like the river,
flowing freely with life.

The heart of autumn must have broken here, and poured its treasure upon the leaves.

September Skies
September is the month of crisp days
and wonderful, clear blue skies,
stretching endlessly above the turning leaves,
as if the world itself were pausing
to breathe in a gentler rhythm,
between the heat of summer
and the hush of autumn.
Joy moves quietly here,
softly woven into sky and leaf.

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn. ~ Elizabeth Lawrence
