Cristóbal Colón Cemetery, Cuba

This is the grave of Jeannette Ryder, an American philanthropist who lived in Cuba and founded the Bando de Piedad (Pity Band). After her death, her dog Rinti refused to leave her grave and would not accept food or water from the cemetery staff. So she died next to her beloved owner. Cuban animal rights activists pay tribute to her every second Sunday in April.
