This picture represents the pentacle and the five elements of the cosmos. The five elements are water, fire, earth, air, and spirit. The spirit is the power and the energy of the goddess that pervades all the dimensions of existence. The four elements are the main forces on which is based life, and they're metaphors of the phases of manifestation of the energy of the deity. In some Wiccan esoteric rituals, the wachtowers, the guardian spirits of the four elements, are invoked to catalyze the energy of the goddess.
