Imbolc, Brigid and the Light
Artist - Elin Manon
As winter hesitated to depart, Brigid knelt at the edge of the awakening earth.
The ground was cold, yet beneath it a soft heartbeat already stirred.
Among snowdrops and damp moss, she clasped her hands—
and within them, a small fire ignited.
It was not a fire that burned.
It warmed only as much as was needed to awaken hope.
Beside her lay the lamb, still and trusting,
as if it knew that the time for a new beginning had come.
Before her stood the simple gifts:
Milk for life, bread for the journey,
fresh cheese with herbs for the earth's healing power.
Brigid spoke not a word.
She knew: Everything that wants to grow needs silence first.
As the light in her hands grew brighter,
the earth opened its eyes.
And deep in the roots, spring began to breathe.
